Wanted! The Outlaws Waylon, Willie, etc
Wanted! The Outlaws, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Colter (Waylon’s wife), Tompall Glasser. RCA APL1-1321. 1976. The term Outlaw Country Music refers to a group that took country music back to it raw roots away from the smoother “Nashville Sound” that had developed. The Outlaw bunch wore jeans and looked like hippies as opposed to the pompadours and glitzy suits of most country music of the time. Buy Wanted! the Outlaws at Amazon.

Hey there. Great post. I hope you’ve been having a wonderful weekend. Take care. Cheers!
This is the music I grew up listening to any time I was with my dad. At the time I thought it was lame (what do you mean they don’t wear makeup and hairspray… Ratt is so much better!).
Now I’d rather listen to this than most of what I listened to in the 80′s.

NTLG, I have a pretty similar story to yours. I really didn’t care for country in high school, but I like it a lot more than most other music now. My dad say’s I’ve “matured.”
