The Penny Arcade in Manitou Springs – Caution lots of photos!
[ad#ad-2]
In Manitou Springs, Colorado there is a place called the Penny Arcade. It is a retro game player’s heaven. Every vintage machine costs what it originally cost to play. So if a pinball machine cost ten cents for 5 balls when it was new, that’s what it costs today. How fun to play games with bells instead of beeps.
There are peep shows (such as the “Have a Look at the Sultan’s Harem”) that are nothing today but back when you would never see a woman in her slip, it was probably pretty exciting. You see racier stuff today in a razor commercial.
The Captain Fantastic Elton John pinball machine I remember quite well. My grandmother had one in her country store / gas station.

This place looks awesome! I could probably spend a whole day in there just playing all these various pinball and other mechanical games! It’s too bad there are no arcades like this anymore near where I live. Its tough to find a good pinball machine to play, they’re getting to be kind of rare.
