Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer by Tex Johnson
Tex Johnson and his Six-Shooters. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Premier Albums XMS4. Not sure of the year, but I would guess 1950s. There were two other covers for this album. Of course, Gene Autry had the big hit with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Burl Ives did the singing in the claymation TV show.
I’m going to be posting several Christmas albums in the coming days. Also, I hope to be moving to retrohound.com. I’m not sure at this point if I’ll be able to transfer what I’ve posted so far.
Update: Here are some sound files from the album generously donated by a reader, though they aren’t exactly the same as the album. They are m4a files.

I’m also looking for an old Rudolph Christmas album that my parents had from the early 60′s when I was a kid. I remember some of the other songs which include When Santa Clause gets your letter, San Antonio, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas to you. Don’t remember the singers. Cover had Rudolphs head and was mostly green background, anyone help?
This album has been a family favorite/traditionally album played to start the season for decades! 15 years ago my cousins burned a copy from the album to CD, my Mom insisted they leave in all the scratchy album sounds! I have the entire album downloaded to my IPod. If it is legal, and anyone knows how to get it out there, I would be happy to share.
