Some records from Ricky (AKA Rick) Nelson (1940 – 1985). The first cover says “Ricky Nelson Sings!” because he was mainly known from his role on the TV show Ozzie and Harriet. Ozzie and Harriet ran an amazing 14 years! 1952 to 1966. I thought M*A*S*H* ran a long time. I think I’ve only seen one episode, Rick wanted a car (really a hot rod like his neighbor) and his dad bought him this old stock Model T with flower vases in the back windows. Ricky was all embarrassed and wouldn’t drive it until the hot rodder told him it was a really cool car. Rick went on to star in Rio Bravo, possibly the best western ever made, with John Wayne and Dean Martin. He had 34 Top 40 hits, and that’s a significant number.

Ricky Nelson, Stood Up b/w Waitin’ In School. Imperial 5483. 1957.

Rick Nelson (no longer Ricky), A Wonder Like You b/w Everlovin’. Imperial 5770. 1961.

Rick Nelson, Young World b/w Summertime. Imperial Records 5805. 1962.
