Retro Vintage Battlestar Galactica Trading Cards 1978

Battlestar Galactica trading cards. 1978. #5, #12, #18, #28, and #34 out of a series of 36. Don’t know who made this set of trading cards, there’s no ID. It’s a different series than the Battlestar Galactica set at Bubble Gum Trading Cards. The bottom left card has Jane Seymour.

This looks like it was just one pack (gum long gone) and it’s all I have. I never watched Battlestar Galactica, I wasn’t really into sci-fi very much. I watched Star Trek and Star Wars, but that’s about it.

My wife, however, loved Galactica and so we got it on Netflixicon for the kids. They really like it. It’s pretty good and there is a lot of story going on.

I was working on a post about me and TV, and how much I didn’t watch, but am now seeing thanks to my wife and Netflix, but it was long, and rambling, and covering too much ground, and really, who but me cares? I may end up dribbling it out a little at a time.

I have #4 in this series. The front is Cree standing in between two Cylons. The back of it says “Space Cadet Cree was captured alive by th Cylons, but refused to reveal BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s location despite cruel torture.

    #4 of Thirty-six

  3. Deanna, you only have one card?

  4. Buchy says:

These cards are ‘Wonder’ful. Really, they were distributed in Wonder Bread (one per loaf) in 1978. There’s a total of 36 cards in a complete set. I have one set and see them all the time on ebay.

  5. So that’s where they came from! I had “wondered.”

Those Red Framed Battlestar Galactica cards were a promo item – they came in loaves of Wonder Bread. I drove everyone I knew crazy demanding they eat Wonder Bread and save me the cards, but I got the complete set! :)
