Remember when Oil came in Cans instead of Bottles?

2009Summer 067

Some old vintage motor oil cans seen at a flea market. Texaco Havoline, Britelube, and Top-Kik motor oils. Brightlube and Top-Kik are “re-refined from previously used oil.” Do we still have anyone doing that in these environmentally-conscious days? Notice, none of them give the weight of the oil, 30W, 10W-30, 5W-30, etc. Top-Kik uses a first sergeant rank as a logo. First sergeants are also called “Top.” There’s also a couple old Bakelite radios as a bonus. One is a Packard Bell.

I do remember when they came in cans and that sweet spout you used to have to jab into the top to pour the oil. Now I feel old…
