Real Man’s Book Cover Brand of Empire by Luke Short

Brand Of Empire by Luke Short. Dell D289. 1937, this edition late 1950s, early 1960s. Cover art by Robert McGinnis. This is the best cover of many for this particular title. What’s torn off says “3rd Big Printing” and you can see it’s a fireplace. But with the torn off corner it looks like he’s standing in a burning building while slowly reloading his gun so he can step outside and finish off those cowardly scalywags. Honestly one of my favorite pulp western covers.
