Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins
When I was a kid, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins. There was no Discovery Channel, no National Geographic channel, no Animal Planet, just a few shows like this that covered animal life. And these guys were almost as crazy as the Crocodile Hunter, only they didn’t play to the camera.
I don’t remember where I got this poster, but it’s huge, about 2 ft. x 3 ft. And Marlin Perkins is way cooler than Jacques Cousteau. Cousteau only did water stuff. Perkins did it all.

I don’t know why, but this show always creeped me out as a kid. My grandparents always came over for dinner and wanted to watch this. The show seemed to go on for ever and ever.

In the early 1960s, I had a Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom sticker book. I believe it was a promotion at a gas station. I have been trying to find one of these books without success. Any suggestions as to where I could look for something like this?
Deborah, That sounds super-cool! I love automobilia (you say it’s from a gas station) and Wild Kingdom. I have no idea where to find one of those other than set up an email alert from eBay. If I run across one I’ll let you know.
