John Hughes is gone

I’m just back from vacation and I find out John Hughes has died. I’m piled up with work, but I’m feeling all weepy like a little girl. I don’t think I’ve been like this since Stevie Ray Vaughn died. I can’t even begin to fashion a decent eulogy, so just take a look at this list of movies Hughes was involved with: Curly Sue (1991), Uncle Buck (1989), She’s Having a Baby (1988), Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986), Weird Science (1985), The Breakfast Club (1985), Sixteen Candles (1984), Pretty in Pink (1986), Some Kind of Wonderful (1987), Christmas Vacation (1989), Home Alone (1990), Mr. Mom (1983), Vacation (1983), and The Great Outdoors (1988). sc_johnc

The 1980s wouldn’t have been the 80s without John Hughes.

One Response “John Hughes is gone”

  1. I grew up on John Hughes. It’s sad as he wasn’t old at all.

And unfortunately, today we lost Les Paul.
