Ernie Kovacs Album

The Ernie Kovacs Album
Kovacs152

The Ernie Kovacs Album. Columbia PC 34950. 1976. Ernie Kovacs was a comedian whose off-the-wall spontaneous humor influenced a ton of shows and people. Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In being the most obvious. Kovacs showed the audience what goes on outside the screen and would talk directly to the camera. Why, one could say he was post-modern! He would do wild setups that no one had thought of putting on television before. Unfortunately he died in 1962 at age 43 in a car wreck. Kovacs was primarily a visual comedian, so an album might seem an odd thing to put out, but remember, there were no home video setups like we have now. Besides, he is funny to listen too also.
