Chet Atkins and Les Paul Guitar Monsters
Chet Atkins and Les Paul. Chester and Lester: Guitar Monsters. RCA Records APL1-2786. 1978. They did another album together the previous year. I also own Neck and Neck with Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler on CD.

I was watching a documentary not to long ago, I can’t remember if it was Stars & Their Guitars or a Les Paul documentary, but it talked about the two of them recording together. I guess Les was a perfectionist and wanted to stay in the studio constantly to get things right. Whereas Chet wanted to just come in, lay down his tracks and then head out. He said “Les, you can stay as long as you want. I’m outta here.” I’m paraphrasing of course.
