Justin Wilson, The Old Master Story Teller. Paula Records, Jewel Record Corp, LPS 2219. 1972. “I Garontee!” or “I Gawr-On-Tee!” I didn’t know this guy did humor records, I just knew he had a cooking show and was known as the Cajun Chef or something like that. Here’s his website. Now the album obiously says 1972 (in 3 places), but Wikipedia says this album is from the 1986. Who you gonna believe?

Joplin MO Tornado

Sorry about the light posting lately. We live 40 minutes from Joplin, MO. My wife and I were just in Joplin Thursday for a combo my birthday/our anniversary dinner. We originally were going to go on Monday (yesterday, the day after the tornado) which wouldn’t have happened. I’ll probably be over there some helping with the clean-up, so posting may remain light for a while. Pray for them.

I know several people who’ve been over there already and they can’t describe the destruction. One retired Marine says it looks worse than Ramadi, Iraq during the war. The ironic thing is, my church leads a disaster relief team and I think they are still in Alabama helping with that tornado clean-up.

People said they saw police, fire trucks, and ambulances from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and even Illinois. A great example of people coming together to help. As one person said, “No one’s waiting for FEMA.”

If you’d like to help, Donate to the Tornado Relief Effort (from ABC News):

Collecting is a Disorder of the Brain

Found this info at thefret.net guitar forum, it points to Scienceagogo.

Collecting items can trigger obsessive-compulsive disorder

Whatever you collect – porcelain dolls, precious stones, shoes, thimbles, watches or fans – your hobby could easily become a psychological disorder…

The researchers, from Granada University, say that as long as collectors exercise some control, then “collecting items is good from a psychological point of view, as it helps in developing positive skills and attitudes such as perseverance, order, patience and memory.”

But Granada’s Francisca López Torrecillas warns that in the recent years, “a very significant increase has been observed of cases where uncontrolled collecting has caused obsessive-compulsive disorders.”

What if you’re only buying it to because it’s so cool you have to post it on your blog? But, what does it mean if you sold something that you suddenly wish you’d kept? You know you have to let stuff go, but which stuff? Is it significant if I regret selling it even if I didn’t need it? Even though I’ve only played guitar for 18 months, I know I needed the two acoustics, 3 electrics, and two amps that I’ve bought. No, I don’t suffer from anything. What about you?

One Dollar Bill from 59 Cent Bag of Sta-Krisp Potato Chips!

001

This dollar bill sealed in cellophane was in my Grandpa Lindsey’s stuff. He passed away in 1972. It’s a 1963 dollar bill. The card says “Here Is Your Lucky Buck! Compliments of Sta-Krisp, Inc. We wish to thank you for your patronage! Please check with your friends and neighbors to see if they have found their lucky buck in a 59¢ bag of STA-KRISP POTATO CHIPS.” See, everyone once in a while, someone in my family gets lucky.
