Today we have the Beverly Hillbillies album from Harmony Records, a division of Columbia Records. Stereo HS 11269, Mono HL 7469. “Previously released under same title.” Original release was 1965, this one was probably 1971.

Beverly Hillbillies TV show shot to #1 immediately when the show began and has run in syndication ever since. This is just a novelty album that they released during the show’s decade long run (1962-1971).

The theme song is done by Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs so it is a different singer than the one used on the TV show. Everybody’s favorite song at our house is “Vittles” by Granny and the cast. Granny tells what she’s cooking and it sounds pretty gross to us city slickers. Pretty funny. If you’re a fan of the show you’ll like the album, if you are a lukewarm fan or not a fan, you probably will hate the album.

Amazon has it on CD.
