Allan Sherman For Swinging Livers Only
Allan Sherman, For Swingin’ Lovers Livers Only. 1964. Warner Brothers W 1569. Back side liner note written by Art Buchwald. On the front cover, that is NOT Art Buchwald. The title is, of course, a play on Sinatra’s Songs For Swingin’ Lovers. Sherman is most famous (at least in my mind) for his song Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah set to Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours.

I love this cover. I love vintage album covers. They were so cool. Cheers!
That song “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah” was always sort of funny. Never knew who actually sang it.
I’m having trouble with that phrase ‘swinging livers’. It just doesn’t look right…
.. or sound right..
Yes, Joe, I agree, it kinda turns the stomach if you think about it too much. So do like I do and stop thinking!
