Jim, all I can tell you is what is in the pictures. The book isn't mine, I had just borrowed it so I don't have it anymore. National Aeronautics Council is who the order envelope was addressed to.

I have a friend who has 16 of these prints, were there really only 14? If William (the artist's grandson) wants to contact me offline, I'd love to discuss them with you. Thanks!

I live in a house in Hackettstown where William Heaslip painted some of his paintings. I think our neighbor has one if his grandson is interested. Harry Noble

My father came across an old string-tied envelope with printing on the front that reads:
A new series of
FIGHTING AIRPLANES
Now being used in combat by
THE U.S. ARMY and THE U.S. NAVY
Painted by William Heaslip
PRESENTED WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF
THE COCA-COLA COMPANY

There are 14 prints inside of this package of various aircraft. In the bottom right corner of the envelope it reads "LITHO IN USA BY SNYDER & BLACK, INC., NY.

He has had these for awhile but I am interested in researching their background as we are aviation enthusiasts as well.

My Grandfather was William Heaslip. We are always looking for his illustrations in magazines & books. We know about Coca Cola hangers & the "Know Your War Planes". We have MANY Boy's Life & American Boy Magazines. Dewey, could you tell us if there are any Heaslip illustrations in any of the titles you mentioned? We would appreciate it VERY much. That way we can be on the lookout for these items!
Thanks,
Bill Heaslip

I have the Spotters book too. Had it new since the War. My sister was a spotter. I was only 11 at the time, but I think they would have let me sign up to be one. I knew all of them. There was a small tower built about 12 ft high on our school hill to be used for spotting. This was in Edinburg Va.
I also have other small books put out by several Companies. One is "Know Your War Planes" with paintings by William Heaslip, along with profiles of the planes. It was distributed by Coca Cola in around 1943 and Heaslip had paintings of pilots drinking Cokes in the book.
I have two small books "War Planes of the world" by Whitman Publishing Co. Racine, WI.
Three photo packs of 36 photos in each of Fighting planes, Enemy planes, civilian planes. A 1944 AAF "The Official Guide To The Air Forces."
Also,a 1940"Flying Aces" magazine.

I owned and flew a 1942 Interstate Cadet.
Nice to know that some of these old books are still around.
Thanks, Dewey Funkhouser
