A Very Special Christmas Album Cover

A Very Special Christmas, Special Olympics Productions, SP-3911. 1987.
This was the first album in a series of these produced for good causes. This version has The Pointer Sisters, Eurythmics, Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The Pretenders, John Cougar Mellencamp, Sting, Run-DMC (with a great song, Christmas in Hollis), U2 (of course, it’s a socially conscious album), Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Alison Moyet, and Stevie Nicks (singing Silent Night without a baby Jesus. Very odd if you ask me. And the most Christian band on the LP, U2, isn’t even doing a Christian song.).
Wow, I haven’t listened to this in 20 years, I should give it a shot again. There are a few here I will be skipping over.
One Response “A Very Special Christmas Album Cover”

I was so excited when I bought this tape and I would listen to it every day leading up to Christmas. I don’t exactly love any of the songs on it, so I’m not sure why I was so into it – I guess I was still excited about Christmas back then.
