7 Inch 45 RPM Picture Sleeves from 1962
Clyde McPhatter, Lover Please b/w Let’s Forget about the Past. Mercury 71941. 1962. Once again, the two sides seem to make one statement.
Clyde McPhatter was one of the many lead singers in The Drifters that went on to solo fame, though he didn’t get as famous as Ben E. King. As a side note: Is McPhatter where the idea to use “phat” for “fat” comes from?
Clyde McPhatter, Little Bitty Pretty One b/w Next to Me. Mercury 71987. 1962. Both picture sleeves have the same backside.
Johnny Hallyday, Be-Bop A-Lula b/w I Got A Woman. Philips 40024. 1962. Johnny Hallyday appears to be a huge French star. This is a pretty rare picture sleeve of his. Goldmine Standard Catalog of American Records: 1950-1975
doesn’t even list a picture sleeve at all.
