20 Monster Hits and 10 More Monster Hits
So, I missed all the hubaloo about the big Woodstock 40th anniversary. Here are a couple albums that fit in that vibe. 20 Monster Hits and then the sequel, 10 More Monster Hits. When I first saw the 20 Monster Hits I thought this was a rare album, but I’ve seen it everywhere since. One of the more interesting songs is “Season of the Witch” by Steve(n) Stills and Al Kooper instead of the usual Donavon.

Oh man, I TOTALLY remember these albums from my dad’s record collection when I was a kid. That dude in the blue sweater is seared in my memory. Doesn’t one of these records have “The Witch Queen of New Orleans?” I thought that song was cool.
Any idea what concert the cover photo is from? I’ve always wondered…

oh this is just classic! My mother had one similar called 20 solid gold hits.
“The Witch Queen of New Orleans” is on the 20 album. I don’t know what the cover photo is from, but it seems a pretty massive festival. The river behind the stage tells me it’s not Woodstock, but other than that, I don’t know.
this was an album I bought around ’71 or ’72 and you bought it from a TV Commercial
